3 Persons Remanded For Allegedly Assaulting Man On Suspicion Of Being Gay
Defendants are accused of assault, robbery and blackmail
The three who are under arrest were reported to be part of a group of five who allegedly abused, robbed, sprayed a substance into the victim’s eyes, and demanded a ransom from his family because they claimed he was gay.
The 22-year-old victim was assaulted and left with glass louver blade wounds on Saturday at Kentikrono, in Kumasi after one of the accused invited him.
Kentinkrono is a suburb in Ghana and has about 17,600 residents. Kentinkrono is situated nearby to the suburbs Nsenie and Oduom
On Sunday [April 26], the crime was reported to police, and three of the suspects were apprehended and processed for court.
The case is adjourned until May 18, 2023, on several accusations.
